During Monday night's episode of RAW, the "Eva-Lution" finally arrived and it was...quite something!
Despite WWE advertising that Eva Marie would wrestle Naomi on the show, the former Total Divas star instead introduced her protege, NXT UK Superstar Piper Niven. She made short work of the former Women's Champion, and Eva declared Piper's victory as her own (which seems to be her new gimmick).
Eva clearly wasn't as enthusiastic about Piper as she is about her, and while it's hard to say where this is going, we wouldn't be overly surprised if the plan to have Piper eventually turn on her mentor. That would obviously cement her as a top babyface in the company, but it would require WWE to book Niven in a way that means fans can get behind her.
We have some doubts about that, primarily because of some news that comes our way courtesy of Fightful Select. WWE never named Piper on RAW, and they're saying that two possible names that have been pitched for her include "Dew Drop" and "Doudrop."
That sounds like something Vince McMahon would come up with, eh?
Needless to say, we have a feeling that a name like that is going to mean she struggles to get over with fans...
