Plans For WRESTLEMANIA Should Become Clearer Later Today As Tampa Officials Hold Press Conference

WrestleMania is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 5th, but will the coronavirus lead to it being cancelled? Well, a press conference taking place later today should clear things up...

Officials from the city of Tampa are meeting today to make some decisions about what to do with upcoming large scale events taking place in the city over the coming weeks. This is a result of the continued spread of Coronavirus, and Mayor Jane Castor and her team will hold a press conference later today to inform the public of their plans.

That should include WrestleMania considering the fact it's just a matter of weeks away, and while WWE won't want to cancel the Show of Shows, it will ultimately be the city who decides what happens.

President Donald Trump's recent travel ban will definitely hurt attendance given how many fans travel from Europe, but given what Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said at his own press conference earlier today, there may be a solution for the company.

While he strongly encourages all local municipalities in the state to cancel mass gatherings and events, it sounds like he would be open to screening measures also taking place at large scale shows.

With any luck, plans for WrestleMania will be clear in a number of hours. Stay tuned.
