On Friday night, WWE confirmed that Drew McIntyre will face Madcap Moss at the upcoming Day 1 PPV, an apparent blowoff to his feud with him and Happy Corbin. As for Universal Champion Roman Reigns, he fired and attacked Paul Heyman and will defend the title against Brock Lesnar at the show without his Special Counsel by his side.
We don't know what the outcome of the latter match will be, but at recent house shows, McIntyre has been teaming with various allies to battle The Bloodline. WrestlingNews.co believes this could be an indication that WWE is setting the stage for McIntyre to pursue Reigns heading into the Royal Rumble.
The Head of the Table isn't expected to lose the title at Day 1, while him facing The Beast at WrestleMania is pretty much set in stone at this point. As a result, it's looking like Reigns will feud with McIntyre in the New Year, something that makes sense when WWE has laid the groundwork for him to pursue the title (Lesnar also has unfinished business with him, so perhaps we'll get a Triple Threat match at the Show of Shows?).
Only time will tell, but we're hoping Reigns doesn't just make his way through McIntyre on his way to WrestleMania as the Scottish Superstar definitely deserves better. The feud between him and Lesnar has been WWE's best storyline since SummerSlam, though it did take a weird turn this past Friday.
As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated as we learn more!
