Rumour has it Brock Lesnar will face Roman Reigns at next year's WrestleMania. The Beast clashed with the Head of the Table at Crown Jewel, but WWE kept us on the hook with an iffy finish and no real answers about where Paul Heyman's loyalties truly lie. Lesnar was recently suspended by WWE and fined $1 million for attacking Adam Pearce, so he's not expected to return quite yet.
We are, however, anticipating seeing him in action at next year's Royal Rumble PPV. Reigns won't be his opponent at that show, but we might now have an idea of who will be.
During last Friday's episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre issued an open challenge and squared off with Mustafa Ali. He earned a quick win and used the Kimura to make Ali tap out. Now, according to Dave Meltzer, "There was significance in Drew McIntyre using the Kimura (Brock Lesnar’s submission move) on Mustafa Ali on Smackdown."
Lesnar's last match before his return was in a losing effort to McIntyre at last year's WrestleMania.
A rematch between the two men makes sense, but we're not sure how this would work when they're both babyfaces. It's certainly not a bad way to kill time until Lesnar challenges Reigns for the Universal Championship again, but how this is going to lead to that WrestleMania match is impossible to say.
Cesaro has also teased something with The Beast on social media, but we can't imagine that's in the works. Needless to say, we'll keep you guys updated as we learn more about future plans.
