Retribution arrived on RAW last night, looking like a cross between Bane and Casey Jones. Despite claiming that they want to take aim at WWE's money-drive Superstars, they confirmed that they've signed contracts with WWE and later wrestled in the main event where, comically, we learned that they have names like Slapjack, T-Bar, and Mace.
Don't worry, you're not the only ones getting serious WCW Nitro vibes from this angle!
For now, it seems WWE has big plans for the stable, though, as PW Insider is reporting that the plan is to have a Retribution vs. Team WWE match take place at Survivor Series. At this point, it's hard to say what that could achieve - will they have to stop attacking everyone if they lose? - but it does look like Vince McMahon is fully committed to this barmy concept.
A lot can change between now and November, of course, and it seems that Retribution will be focusing on The Hurt Business for the time being. The response to this angle has been abysmal, and it's a great shame fans can't attend shows to make their voices heard.
Things could improve, of course, but it's becoming increasingly clear that WWE's creative team is in dire straits.
