Sonya Deville was in the midst of feuding with Mandy Rose when a stalker broke into her home and she was forced to take some time away from WWE. When she finally returned, it was as an authority figure on RAW and SmackDown alongside Adam Pearce, but her in-ring return could be imminent.
We first heard in mid-June that she might be preparing to wrestle again, and Fightful Select is now reporting that there's been a push within the company to have her be part of the Money in the Bank ladder match. At one point, she was even scheduled to be part of the match, but whether that's still going to happen obviously remains to be seen for the time being.
Company officials have reportedly shared "glowing reviews" of Deville in her new role, and it sounds like when she does wrestle again, a significant push is planned.
At one point, WWE wanted Deville back in the ring in time for WrestleMania 37, but plans changed.
There's currently only one spot left in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match as Natalya was added to the bout yesterday (joining Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, Asuka, Naomi, Nikki A.S.H., and Alexa Bliss). Deville, who has somewhat abused her position of power on SmackDown in recent weeks, adding herself to the match and winning would be a great start to a heel run.
