Rumors have been circulating over the fact that Kevin Owens might be the wrestler to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 35.
The former Universal champion has been showcased on RAW and Smackdown Live with a various set of promos about his upcoming return and according to
cagesideseats, Owens is indeed expected to be apart of the Smackdown Live roster when he comes back. Of course, the article makes it clear that its just a rumor and nothing has been officially confirmed.
Again, there’s no guarantee that Owens will be challenging for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, but Dave Meltzer pointed out that during Owens’ promos, he’s been eating pizza, drinking soda and being generally unhealthy, something Bryan in his new eco-warrior gimmick is very against.
The exact date for Owens return is not yet known; however, the former Universal champion did give a month timeline in one of his promo segments thus a pop up inside the ring in March seems to make sense.
