Crown Jewel has five matches and this show has the potential to be something excellent. Let's quickly get started with the first match.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for the men’s Crown Jewel Championship
Seth Rollins has to win this. He’s been pushed as WWE’s top heel and he can’t come out as a loser again. It would be great if WWE gave him a clean win, but most likely, Seth’s goons will be the reason he gets the victory. Cody could win, but he doesn’t need it. In fact, there could be an interesting story of Cody losing this match. Maybe Orton accidentally costs Cody this match trying to help him fight off The Vision. There's definitely fun possibilites with Cody losing. Plus, can we please get started with Orton vs. Cody? It likely won’t happen, but the point is that Cody will hardly be affected if he loses.
But if WWE opts to give Cody the win (again) then it’ll be hard to take the Vision faction seriously. It’s bad enough that The Vision has become repetitive and honestly, quite boring. They’re nothing more than a generic faction who uses the numbers game to win matches. There's strong potential with this faction, but their mission statement hasn’t crafted an interesting narrative yet. But Seth needs this win. He may not be a Brock Lesnar type heel, but if WWE wants us to take him seriously then he can’t lose just yet.
Winner: Seth Rollins
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for the women’s Crown Jewel Championship
Where does Tiffany Stratton go from here? She's pretty much beat the entire Smackdown women’s division. Plus, she’s not particularly clicking as a babyface, but I put the blame on WWE more than Stratton. So I think this is the perfect match to shake things up. Meaning, Tiffany can turn heel here. That way, it can freshen up the Smackdown scene a bit with her now being a heel and giving Stephanie an out for losing.
I think WWE really wants to establish Stephanie as a top star so I can also see her getting a clean win here. There’s the possibility that someone like Nia Jax or Giulia costs Tiffany the match, but I’m 63.4% confident that Ms. Velcro is coming out the winner here.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed in an Australian Street Fight
WWE needs to give Bronson a big win one of these days. Perhaps I’m wrong, but Roman won’t stop being popular if he took a loss here. But Bronson just isn’t the guy that WWE’s planning the future for. It could’ve been fun for Bronson to be a strong heavy for Seth like Solo was for Roman, with those two eventually clashing for the World title.
But I just don’t see that in the cards right now. Roman’s likely getting the win. There’s the possibility that Roman loses because of Bron Breakker, but I imagine WWE is saving a big win over Roman for the second generation star himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if Roman lost because of heel shenanigans but I won’t bet my house that he will.
Winner: Roman Reigns
Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley vs. “The Kabuki Warriors” Asuka and Kairi Sane
This is Rhea’s home country. But Asuka is fresh off of her heel turn. Plus, they already gave Rhea the victory over Asuka in a singles match. Asuka and Kairi need this win more.
WWE should wait a little bit longer to give Iyo and Rhea that moment when they finally kick Asuka’s ass. I’m intrigued if a new member joins Asuka as her new pupil. There’s been no teases or anything, but WWE is going to go out of their way to protect Rhea and Iyo. The former WWE Women’s World Champions can win this, but what's next?
Sure, they can continue the Asuka feud, but it just won’t have the same heat because we’ve already seen the climax. Kairi needs to finally slap the taste out of Asuka's mouth before Iyo and Rhea get the victory. This match could go either way, but I think the heels need this more.
Winner: Asuka and Kairi Sane
John Cena vs. AJ Styles
So is WWE going to do something with that promo where AJ said somebody doesn’t want him here? A part of me is concerned that will play a part in the finish of this match. Not in a way that makes Cena look like a heel, but in a sneaky manner. Nevertheless, I doubt Cena is losing here. Styles doesn’t need the win and if the rumors are true about Cena’s final opponent then he needs all of the wins that he can get. That Brock loss was a mistake, but it is what it is. This should be a great match though. Cena wins, but I’ll be on guard for some type of shenanigans.
Winner: John Cena
