R-Truth Defeats Shinsuke Nakamura To Become The New US Champion On SMACKDOWN; Rusev Turns Heel

What's up? R-Truth is the new United States Champion, that's what.

The veteran Superstar pinned Shinsuke Nakamura tonight on SmackDown LIVE, but it looked like there may have been a botch somewhere as Nak appeared to kick out just before the ref made the three count and both men continued to wrestle for a few seconds after.

Whatever happened, the decision stuck - but Truth wouldn't have long to celebrate before Rusev (who appears to be a heel again) made his way to the ring and challenged the new champ for the title.

Because Superstars have the authority to make matches now, apparently, the bout got underway, but Truth managed to roll the Bulgarian Brute up for the pin, retaining his championship. Afterwards, The Artist reappeared and double-teamed Truth with Rusev.

What the hell is going on? No idea... but we're definitely here for R-Truth as United States Champion!
