Randy Orton Defeats Jeff Hardy In A Brutal Match To Open WWE's HELL IN A CELL Pay-Per-View

In what is being hailed as one of the most brutal matches in WWE history (I wouldn't go that far myself, but perhaps of the PG era), Randy Orton managed to pin Jeff Hardy in the first Hell in a Cell match of the evening.

The weapons were brought into play almost immediately, with both men trading hard shots. Eventually, The Viper grabbed a screwdriver and twisted it through Hardy's earlobe in what was easily one of the most disturbing visuals we've seen on PPV - in any era!

Ultimately, The Charismatic Enigma's daredevil attitude proved to be his undoing when he climbed to the top of a ladder, grabbed hold of the top of the cell and dropped right onto a table, unaware that Orton had moved. Randy then pinned the prone Hardy, who was stretchered out of the arena.

Hell in a Cell continues!
