This week's episode of Monday Night Raw kicked off with Randy Orton, who was supposed to be facing Matt Hardy in a No-Holds Barred match. The Viper explained that Matt hadn't been cleared by WWE's doctors and the bout wouldn't be going ahead, but, of course, a neck-brace sporting Hardy made his way to the ring anyway.
Matt still wanted a reason for Randy's heinous attack on Edge a few weeks ago, and Orton actually seemed to show remorse, telling Hardy he respected him and "loved Edge like a brother." At that he said he was sorry and left the ring, but soon changed his mind and returned to obliterate Hardy with a steel chair.
It was a well done segment, rendered a little silly (or completely ridiculous, depending on your perspective) by the fact that not a single Superstar in the back came to Hardy's aid. At any rate, we're assuming Matt is now done as an in-ring competitor... Unless he crawls out to the ring next week in a full body cast only for Orton to set fire to him or something.
