This time last year, Vince McMahon had mostly stepped away from getting involved with WWE from a creative standpoint. However, he'd return for the RAW after WrestleMania, resulting in an episode deemed one of the worst in the show's history.
With Triple H now calling the shots (and WWE riding high, as a result), this year's effort was vastly better.
The show opened with The Game surprising Rhdoes with an emotional video package recapping his journey to becoming the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. With that, a tearful American Night proceeded to celebrate his win...until he was interrupted by The Rock!
The crowd wasn't kind to the Final Boss and, after a fun back and forth with fans, The Rock got serious and all but confirmed he plans to reclaim Rhodes' title for The Bloodline. However, for now, he has to go away (Hollywood is calling) and teased that, while Rhodes' story with Roman Reigns is over, their story is just beginning.
Now, we'd expect these two to clash at SummerSlam!
Elsewhere in the show, John Cena returned to RAW to lend The Miz and R-Truth a helping hand against The Judgement Day. In the main event, Jey Uso was named #1 contender to Damian Priest's newly won World Heavyweight Championship after CM Punk grabbed Drew McIntyre's leg and cost him the match.
We have to believe the Second City Saint is close to being cleared, though WWE is likely saving this match for Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland later this summer.
