RAW's Announce Team Was Told Not To Mention Saudi Arabia During Last Night's Show

As we've already noted here on The Ring Report, there was no mention of Saudi Arabia during last night's episode of RAW and now a new report confirms that the announce team was told not to name the country.

Despite the controversy surrounding Crown Jewel, the upcoming PPV was mentioned a lot during last night's RAW as WWE continued to hype a number of big matches for the show. However, there was no mention of the country it takes place in, something which wasn't really a huge surprise considering the fact the company has come under fire for the way it's been cosying up to them this year.

With the PPV receiving mainstream media attention and several United States senators urging WWE to re-evaluate their relationship with the Saudi government, the backlash is showing no sign of going away and UFC parent company Endeavor actually pulled out of its $400 million deal with the country on Monday. So, what's WWE's response? To try and cover it up and make us forget, of course!

It's said that announcers Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Renee Young were specifically told not to mention Saudi Arabia as WWE is mulling over ideas for what they'll do if the show is scrapped. It's hard to say what's going to happen next but WWE is either going to shrug this negative attention off or will do something about it. We'll just have to wait and see but stay tuned for updates as we have them.
