RAW's New Commentary Team Got Off To A Shaky Start On Monday's Season Premiere

The new announce team of Jerry "The King" Lawler, Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin debuted this past Monday night on Raw, and the general consensus seems to be that the trio did not get off to a very good start.

The Raw commentary team underwent a complete overhaul for the red brand's "season premier" this past Monday, and the results were decidedly mixed.

Vic Joseph did a fine job - especially considering this was his first time calling a main roster show from beginning to end - but his backup was not so successful. Dio Madden is still honing his craft so we don't want to be too hard on him, but that said, he was pretty bad and sounded bored throughout. Then there's Jerry "The King" Lawler.

What on Earth prompted WWE to bring this guy back as a full-time announcer is anybody's guess, but he's still spouting nonsense, screaming, and reeling off the same tired old gags. Lawler was good at what he did back in the day, but, quite frankly, times have changed and he hasn't.

Hopefully this trio will find their groove, but this was not a great start. What do you guys make of the new Raw announcers?
