AJ Styles' recent absence from RAW has not gone unnoticed by fans in recent weeks, though it has given his tag team partner Omos the opportunity to be put front and centre. During last night's episode of WWE's flagship show, the giant Superstar distracted The Street Profits' Montez Ford, giving the Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) the chance to pick up the win.
Talking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Styles has been sidelined with a medical issue that's unrelated to any sort of injury.
"AJ’s got a non-injury medical issue is what I was told," he said. "I’m sure he’s gonna yell and scream about it at some point, but that is what they said. A non-injury medical issue." Styles isn't the biggest fan of Meltzer, so that's likely what that last part is referencing.
We certainly hope Styles has a speedy recovery and returns sooner rather than later, though it has become clear WWE is setting the stage for Styles and Omos to feud with The Street Profits.
The last time we saw Styles was at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia when he and Omos were unsuccessful in their attempt to defeat RK-Bro for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Many fans believe the Phenomenal One is wasted as part of a tag team, though he and Omos have made for an entertaining duo.
