Reason For Edge's Absence From WWE Television Since WRESTLEMANIA Finally Revealed

The last time we saw Edge in a WWE ring, he was being pinned (at the same time as Daniel Bryan) by Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. As a result, the Rated-R Superstar still hasn't got his hands on championship gold since returning to WWE, something not helped by an injury he sustained last year.

Now, with no sign of Edge since the Show of Shows, there's been some concern online that he might once again be nursing some sort of injury from what was an intense, gruelling match.

Fightful Select has thankfully provided an update, revealing that Edge isn't injured, and this was a planned sabbatical. That makes sense when you stop and think about it because when the former WWE Champion did sign a new deal with the company, it was no secret that it was a limited one for a specific number of dates.

Since WrestleMania, Reigns has banished Bryan from SmackDown and overcome a challenge from Cesaro. It's possible the Ultimate Opportunist could return for another shot at the Head of the Table, but there's currently no word on what WWE Creative has planned for him.

If we had to fantasy book a scenario, though, Edge would return at Money in the Bank, win the briefcase, and then cash in during one of the upcoming shows WWE is holding in front of fans!

What do you guys think?
