Rey Mysterio Attempted To Unmask And Retire On RAW, But Was Stopped By His Son Dominic

There was speculation that Rey Mysterio was planning to announce his retirement on Raw this week after some telling social media posts, and while he did attempt to, his son Dominic talked him out of it...

After coming up short against Andrade on several occasions and generally being fed up with his performances of late, Rey Mysterio was all set to hang up his mask and retire on Raw last night before being convinced to reconsider by his son.

Dominic stopped his father from removing his mask, and promised that the two of them would soon be teaming together. He has been training in the performance center, and is reportedly set to make his in-ring debut very soon. We hope he steps up his promo work, though, because this was... not good.

It's a bit of a shame to see a Legend like Mysterio taken down this route, to be honest. Veterans can put over younger wrestlers without being made to look like they've lost it, but then maybe Rey's return was always about setting the stage for Dominic.

What do you guys make of this angle?
