Rey Mysterio Confirms That Negotiations With WWE Are Still Very Much "Up In The Air"

We've been hearing for months now that Rey Mysterio is lining up some sort of WWE return but the former World Heavyweight Champion appears to be no closer to actually coming back to RAW or SmackDown Live on a regular basis. Now, he's revealed that after making those two Royal Rumble appearances, Mysterio has been in talks with WWE but nothing is set in stone as of yet.

"We started off with the Royal Rumble at the beginning of the year in January," the popular wrestler confirmed. "There was another offer on the table to do the Greatest Royal Rumble, and in between those two events, we’ve been going back and forth in conversations, trying to work out the right deal. It’s still up in the air. Nothing [is] secure, yet." Well, that's disappointing!

The two sides clearly haven't been able to come to an agreement and that probably boils down to money, especially as Mysterio is making a killing on the independent circuit and WWE will need to beat that. With any luck, another run with the company in his future because he's in amazing shape right now and there's a lot they could do with him. As always, stay tuned for further updates.
