Rey Mysterio is our new United States Champion after pinning AJ Styles on Raw... with a little help from Randy Orton!
Mysterio actually first competed in a Fatal 4-Way with Orton, Drew McIntyre and Ricochet to determine the new #1 contender, and rolled up the One and Only to earn the right to face Styles immediately after. The Phenomenal One was happy to face Rey, clearly not taking the legendary luchador seriously. This was a strong indication that he'd be losing the bout, and lose he did.
Styles did dominate in the early going, but Mysterio soon mounted a comeback, prompting Anderson and Gallows to get involved after a ref bump. However, The Viper then made the save and Rey was able to hit a 619 right into the path of Orton's RKO. With ref revived, Mysterio covered his opponent for the 3-count.
It's awesome to see Rey-Rey with some gold... now let's hope he holds on to it for more than a week or two!
