It was recently reported that Rey Mysterio had been forced to self-isolate after potentially coming down with COVID-19 symptoms, but the Master of the 619 is now setting the record straight when it comes to why he's been missing from WWE TV in recent weeks (and why he wasn't part of this year's WrestleMania which hailed from the WWE Performance Center).
In the interview below (which is in Spanish), Mytserio explains that he started feeling under the weather around the time WWE was taping a number of RAW episodes and the two-night WrestleMania.
As a result, WWE doctors decided to keep him at home in order to play it safe and avoid any other WWE Superstars potentially becoming unwell. Interestingly, the Master of the 619 would go on to note that despite feeling mildly unwell, he never showed any symptoms of the Coronavirus and believes he might have been down to him travelling from Orlando to San Diego.
The original plan was for Mysterio to challenge Andrade for the United States Championship, but that likely would have been scrapped seeing as the latter missed WrestleMania due to a rib injury.
