In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has claimed that Rey Mysterio is working for WWE minus a contract. While the Master of the 619 hasn't parted ways with the company, his current deal expired recently, and it seems as if he's now trying to work out a new one with WWE behind the scenes.
Melzter also reveals that Mysterio and his son Dominik were scheduled to be at RAW on Monday, but plans changed, and that's why they appeared "via satellite" from their home.
Before you start worrying about the legendary WWE Superstar disappearing from Monday nights, however, Meltzer concludes by saying that the planned Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins match at the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV will be an "Eye for an Eye" match where the stipulation is that you can only win...by taking out your opponent's eye.
It's thought that Mysterio will end up signing a new deal with WWE, after he came to terms with his last one in September 2018. That was for two years, but it included an opt-out clause after eighteen months (which could be why he's now attempting to negotiate a new contract).
We'll keep you updated, but it's no secret that All Elite Wrestling is keen on bringing Mysterio back after he worked All Out...
