Rey Mysterio Reportedly Turned Down A Huge Offer From ALL ELITE WRESTLING To Stick With WWE

Rey Mysterio and his son Dominick look set to remain a big part of RAW moving forward, and it's now being reported that the Master of the 619 recently turned down a big money offer from AEW to stick with WWE.

Last night's episode of RAW ended with Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik brutally attacking both Seth Rollins and Murphy with kendo sticks, and it's clear this rivalry will continue to be a focal point of the show moving forward. They're both being booked to look strong, and that's no doubt appreciated by the Master of the 619 (particularly for his son).

During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that while Vince McMahon has a habit of getting bored of those he pushes, that shouldn't be the case with Dominik as the WWE Chairman is well-aware that Rey turned down a big money deal with All Elite Wrestling to stay with WWE.

"They did sign Rey and Rey could have gone to AEW and they know that know Rey got a huge offer to go to AEW [and he] stayed," Meltzer explained. "That’s a feather in the cap too. I don’t want to say they owe him because they don’t owe anyone anything but Rey had no contract. Rey could have walked in AEW in the middle of this program."

"He wasn’t gonna do it because he’s Rey and he told them he wouldn’t and no matter what he wouldn’t. But the point is that legally he could have. I know that loyalty to Vince is a one-way street – you have to be loyal to him and he doesn’t have to be loyal to you but there is something to that right now but he’ll probably forget it at some point too, down the line. Usually, it’s sooner than later."

Needless to say, it's going to be interesting seeing how this develops over the coming weeks, and whether McMahon does reward Rey by continuing to push both him and Dominick as main eventers.
