WWE has spent a while teasing plans for Dominik Mysterio to become a WWE Superstar, as he got involved with his father Rey Mysterio's feud with Brock Lesnar last year, and is now on a collision course with Seth Rollins.

Many fans believe that the end goal could be something along the lines of Dominik defeating his father in a match to earn his mask, but Rey has now made it clear that he wouldn't be interested in having his final match as a pro wrestler be against Dominik.

"That’s something that I would hate," he said during an interview with GalaxyCon’s Rock Around the Ring. "I would hate to walk out and have my son take over on my last match. I think the torch has already been passed and will eventually again the day that we get to share a ring together and perform in front of fans. That’s when the torch will be passed onto him."

Rey went on to explain that he believes fans are getting behind his son because they believe in him as much as he does. He's also of the opinion that Dominik will be read to wrestle a match sometime next year and not right away.

What are your thoughts on Rey's comments?
