It has been confirmed by WWE that Rey Mysterio will return next week for the 1000th episode of SmackDown he will do battle with United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura for a spot in the WWE Crown Jewel World Cup Tournament.
Odds have to favor Rey Mysterio as this World Cup Tournament is filling up with Superstars of the past such as Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and John Cena. Rey would fit perfectly in this mix. Also, it's noting that Rey Mysterio received one of the bigger pops in Jeddah Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble this past April.
It's also a pretty big opportunity for Shinsuke Nakamura who has kind of been lost in the shuffle even with the United States Championship around his waist. Regardless of who is the victor, both of these men should pull out one of the best matches on television this year. Another huge addition to the SmackDown 1000 show that is guaranteed to be must-see and can't miss.
