Rhea Ripley recently spoke to Metro about a number of topics, including her NXT Women's Championship loss to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. As you may recall, she dropped the title to The Queen during the second night of the Show of Shows, and shortly after, a rumour started doing the rounds claiming the loss was a result of her having VIsa issues.
It was said at the time that Ripley had to return to Australia because her Visa was expiring, and those some reports noted that she would likely miss TV tapings after getting stuck down under (thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic).
Now, Ripley has explained that while she did have to renew her Visa, that didn't require a trip home, and was able to sort it out in the United States. Normally, she would have headed to Australia, but that wasn't possible with there being no flights. As for that being the reason for the title change, Ripley was quick to debunk that.
"I sort of just laugh it off. Social media can be very negative at times," she explained. "If this had been going round when I wasn’t as mentally strong as I am now, I would’ve taken it a completely different way and things wouldn’t have been as good… It’s quite funny seeing people saying that I lost because I had to go back to Australia."
That settles that then!
