Despite it looking like Charlotte Flair might become the new face of NXT following her NXT Women's Championship win at WrestleMania, plans have changed, and The Queen has now been written off television following an attack from Nia Jax. It's believed she'll be gone for the rest of 2020, but it doesn't necessarily sound like Flair will be sitting at home the entire time.
During an interview with The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast, her father Ric Flair talked about her future in WWE and what might lie beyond that. "I know she has a TV series looking at her and she’s got fitness people wanting to do work with her. I hope that she takes as long as she wants off so that all these people that can fill her shoes and do that every night have the opportunity and God bless that thought."
Interestingly, despite reports to the contrary, he's expecting Charlotte to be part of SummerSlam this August. "I’m saying that I would assume that she’s gonna do SummerSlam. I’m saying that I hope she goes to the company because she’s been actively pursued for a series. I can’t give any more than that. And I just hope she just goes and says, ‘Hey, I wanna take some time off.’"
He went to explain that he believes fans have grown too used to seeing Charlotte on television, so some time away could be good for her character. That's certainly true, and it will be interesting seeing how WWE handles her when she does return, especially as Charlotte is clearly viewed as the company's top female Superstar.
