Ric Flair Weighs In On The Struggles Of Giving Up Alcohol After His Recent Health Scare

In 2017, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair very nearly died after years of drinking took its toll on his body but the Nature Boy miraculously recovered and came out on the other side a new man. Why? Well, that alcohol abuse meant he was told that consuming any more could cause serious problems in the future and while you might think he struggled to go cold turkey, it really wasn't as hard as you'd think.

"You know, not at all," Flair said when asked if it's been difficult. "I only had to go through that one time. I had the doctor tell me when I got out that it wouldn’t work. I’m not the smartest guy in the world but if they’re blaming that on alcohol then I don’t need to have alcohol again."

"He told me I can drink now at weddings or something like champagne or a beer or something because my bloodwork and everything is back up like nothing ever happened, but I’m not gonna push that. It’s not because I think if I have one I’ll have two, I don’t need it."

That's a healthy attitude and one which hopefully means Flair will be styling and profiling for many years to come. In the meantime, Charlotte Flair continues his legacy as part of SmackDown Live
