Last night's SmackDown kicked off with new Universal Champion Roman Reigns - and his "Special Counsel" Paul Heyman - addressing The Big Dog's heel turn upon his return at SummerSlam

Heyman began by explaining that he was brought back to WWE just as everyone thought he was "out," and explained that he hadn't corrupted Reigns...Reigns corrupted him. In other words, it was the champ who decided that Heyman should serve as his advocate in WWE, and that further leans into his new heel persona.

Heyman would go on to say that WWE executives turned their back on Reigns when he needed some time off and said they never even thanked him for coming back after his battle with cancer. Heyman then said he's serving as the "Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief."

Reigns spoke briefly and made it clear he did what he promised at Payback and doesn't care who he faces at Clash of Champions.

Well, his opponent is going to be his cousin Jey Uso. After Big E was attacked by Sheamus backstage, he took The New Day member's place in that Fatal-4-Way match with Matt Riddle, King Corbin, and The Celtic Warrior. Uso picked up the win after hitting a splash on Riddle (so, there goes that push).

Are you excited for this Clash of Champions match?
