Could we ever see a Shield reunion? Even if Dean Ambrose hadn't jumped ship to AEW to become Jon Moxley, Roman Reigns doesn't see it happening.
The Universal Champion took part in a Zoom call recently, and when he was asked about the possibility of reforming one of the most popular factions in WWE history, he pretty much dismissed the idea.
"Well I guess Ambrose or Moxley really screwed that up, didn’t he?" joked Reigns. "He messed around and just left us. I don’t think The Shield will ever be recreated or brought back. That’s not just a situation because Mox went to AEW. It’s just, we were so good. Honestly, I think we did the reunion thing a little too much the last… three years ago or whatever it was. I don’t even know if it’s worth revisiting that unless we disappear for like half a decade, and then out of nowhere you hear the music.”
It's not really a surprise to hear this from Roman given the current statuses of himself, Mox and Seth Rollins, but it does sound like he'd be very open to the idea of forming an all-new faction at some point.
The Trible Chief actually hinted that he may recruit an underboss and a few "soldiers" to do his bidding once he fully stablishes himself as a heel. Will we see that come to pass when he faces Jey Uso at Clash of Champions this Sunday? We'd say it's a safe bet!
