It was billed as the biggest WrestleMania match of all time, and while it will be up to fans to decide whether it lived up to the hype, Universal Champion Roman Reigns finally went head-to-head with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at the Show of Shows last night. The Winner Take All Championship Unification match headlined Night 2, but did the Beast acknowledge the Head of the Table?
The bout started with Lesnar removing his MMA gloves to go bare-knuckle with Reigns, and it didn't take long for the Universal Champion to be taken to Suplex City. However, a distraction from Paul Heyman on the outside gave the Big Dog the opportunity to Spear Lesnar through the barricade before turning the tide with two Superman punches. The Beast laughed that off, but Reigns countered an F-5 into another punch. A Spear attempt was then countered into an F-5 for a near fall.
More back and forth action continued, and not even a low blow and shot with the Universal title could keep Lesnar down. After two more Spears, Brock locked in a Kimura, but a helping hand from Heyman meant Reigns was able to grab the rope. Escaping from another F-5, the current Universal Champion finally managed to secure the 1-2-3 by hitting one final, devastating Spear on Lesnar.
With that, Reigns became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion!
It's unclear what the plan is for Lesnar moving forward, but this feels like a natural place to end this rivalry. As for Reigns, it's hard to say whether anyone will be able to stop him now...
