Roman Reigns became the WWE Intercontinental Champion for the first time on RAW tonight after he pinned The Miz.

Things didn't look so great for The Big Dog when The Bar interjected themselves into the match, but once his Shield brothers came down to the ring to back him up, he managed to hit a devastating spear for the 1,2,3.

It'll be interesting to see what WWE has in store for Reigns' IC title run, because far as we know the plan is still for the divisive Superstar to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

A relatively short reign for Reigns seems the most likely outcome, then - but that said, it's best ever to assume too much where pro-wrestling is concerned.
