Roman Reigns Gets Some Bad News On SMACKDOWN In The Wake Of The Rock's Apparent Challenge

A lot went on during last night's "New Year's Revolution" episode of SmackDown, but the Bloodline's Roman Reigns ended up getting some seriously bad news just days after The Rock namedropped him on RAW.

During Monday RAW, The Rock returned to WWE and appeared to call out The Bloodline's Roman Reigns. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion scoffed when given the chance to respond at the start of last night's SmackDown, though we did hear from Paul Heyman later in the evening.

He addressed Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and even CM Punk, making it clear none of them come close to being on the same level as the Tribal Chief.

SmackDown was main evented by AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton vs. LA Knight, with the victor promised a shot at Reigns at this month's Royal Rumble PLE. It was one heck of a match that, unfortunately, was interrupted by the Head of the Table, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy Uso.

They laid waste to the three babyfaces and it looked like the show would go off the air with a triumphant Head of the Table revelling in taking his potential opponents out.

Instead, the blue brand's General Manager, Nick Aldis, informed Heyman that the match at the Royal Rumble will now be a Fatal 4-Way bout for the title!

After the show went off the air, Reigns was informed of the news and...well, he wasn't happy.

In other SmackDown news, Paul Ellering and The Authors of Pain returned to WWE to lay waste to Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits alongside Karrion Kross and Scarlett.

With that, the company has a formidable new faction (and, in case it wasn't already obvious, they've given up on attempting to push Lashley and his new partners as heels).
