At the end of last night's SmackDown, Roman Reigns was revealed to have aligned himself with Paul Heyman, a legitimately shocking twist none of us saw coming. WWE has teased this possibility in the past, but Vince McMahon was always reluctant to pull the trigger on a heel turn for The Big Dog.
Well, according to WrestlingNews.co, it is now official, but he's not necessarily going to be portrayed as a full-blown bad guy. Fans have warmed to Reigns in recent years, and this badass new persona is likely to make him a fan-favourite (the ultimate goal in WWE is to have him take John Cena's spot as the company's top babyface).
The original plan after this year's WrestleMania was for Reigns to be shown with something of a chip on his shoulder after beating WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, and it seems the plan now is indeed for him to take the Universal Championship from The Fiend at Payback.
