Since returning to WWE as a heel, Roman Reigns has fully established himself as the company's top dog. Being paired with Paul Heyman has definitely benefited the Head of the Table, but with rumours swirling about Brock Lesnar making his WWE return, will he continue as Reigns' "special counsel" or return to being an "advocate" for The Beast?
We don't know, but a rumour shared in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates that WWE could be planning to once again pit Lesnar against Reigns. "The obvious angle right now for a Lesnar return is a storyline involving Heyman and thus Reigns," Dave Meltzer noted.
That feels like a natural next step, though we find it hard to imagine Reigns would drop the title to Lesnar upon his return. Either way, it seems WWE is well aware that they have something special on their hands with the Tribal Chief, and Meltzer has also shed some light on the "demands" he has.
"You put the most important first or last. That’s the big argument right now with Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns will either go first or last. He won’t go anywhere else, that’s a shoot," he reveals. "He doesn’t want to go (anywhere) but first, because that’s okay, or last, which is preferable because he’s the main event and he doesn’t want to go second or fourth or second from the top."
You can't blame Reigns for having that attitude, but it shows what sort of pull he now has in WWE.
With that in mind, if there are plans in place for The Big Dog to battle Lesnar, we can be sure it will either kick off a major PPV...or be the main event. As always, keep checking back here for updates!
