Last night's Royal Rumble kicked off with Roman Reigns defending the Universal Championship against Seth Rollins. The latter toyed with the Head of the Table by coming to the ring dressed in his Shield gear using the faction's classic theme, and the match that followed was fantastic.

Rollins picked up the win, but not the title, after losing by disqualification when Reigns locked in the guillotine choke and refused to let go. After the bell had been run, the champion hit his challenger with a chair, recreating the moment Rollins turned on The Shield all those years ago. As things stand, Reigns has still never beaten Rollins, but will continue holding the title heading into WrestleMania season.

Later in the evening, it was Brock Lesnar's turn to defend the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley. This was another strong bout that definitely competitive; the All Mighty managed to get The Beast in the Hurt Lock and Lesnar, desperate to escape, drove his opponent into the referee. He then hit the F5 for what would have been a winning move had an official been on hand to count the 1-2-3.

With that, Reigns hit the ring, spearing Lesnar, and taking the WWE title from Heyman...before using it to lay out Lesnar. The Special Counsel left with his client, making it clear that he's aligned with the Big Dog yet again. As for Lashley, he pinned Lesnar to become the new WWE Champion!

So they found a way to ruin one of the most anticipated matches in all of WWE. People have been begging for Lesnar vs Lashley for years on end. They finally give it to us, and then pull this garbage.

I don't know why I'm surprised.

@CorndogThief - Yes, it's really insulting to pull this stunts, specially in one of their big PPV's of the year.
