RUMOR: Could WWE Be Lining Up Daniel Bryan As A Possible Opponent For Shawn Michaels?
We'll be taking this one with an extra large pinch of salt, but a new rumor doing the rounds reckons WWE might be looking at Daniel Bryan as a possible singles opponent for Shawn Michaels. More past the jump.
Shawn Michaels will officially come out of retirement to team with his old DX buddy Triple H to take on Kane and The Undertaker at Crown Jewel, but is there a chance we might see the legendary Superstar wrestle in a singles match down the line?
That's the rumor, and now we have word on a very exciting opponent that WWE may be lining up to go one-on-one with HBK: Daniel Bryan.
The rumor comes via Joe Peisich of Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast, and while he doesn't have a whole lot more to add, Bryan would make a lot of sense if HBK was genuinely considering another singles bout.
For one, Michaels helped train The Leader of the YES! Movement and fans have considered a clash between the two as something of a dream match for years now. Plus, Bryan is regarded as one of the best "workers" in the business which would almost certainly factor into Shawn and WWE's choice of opponent.
We'll just have to wait and see if there's any truth to this, but be sure to tune into Crown Jewel in the meantime to get a look at HBK in action again after almost a decade.
