Rusev's Contract May Be Expiring Soon; Could He Be The Next WWE Superstar To Leave The Company?

We've been hearing a lot of rumblings about Rusev's WWE future and now a new report claims that his contract could be expiring soon. Is the Bulgarian Brute biding his time so he can move on to AEW?

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Rusev's contract is expiring relatively soon. While there's no word on him being interested in leaving WWE, it's no secret that both he and Lana are unhappy with their current position in the company based on a number of comments made on social media in recent months.

As of right now, Rusev is taking some time off from WWE after requesting a break from life on the road. Meltzer speculates that this hiatus is related to him being unhappy and adds that WWE could spite Rusev by extending the length of his contract by freezing it for the time he's gone.

That would be no great surprise given the way they're trying to keep talent away from All Elite Wrestling.

However, of all the Superstars it's easy to imagine leaving WWE in the near future, it's Rusev and Lana and they could land a huge contract elsewhere, especially as a double act. What do you guys think? We'll be sure to keep you updated so stay tuned for more as we have it.
