Sami Zayn Has Actually Been Cleared To Wrestle Despite Serving In A Managerial Role On SMACKDOWN

There's been a lot of speculation that the reason Sami Zayn is currently serving as a manager on SmackDown is due to lingering injuries but it sounds like he's actually been cleared for a while now...

Sami Zayn is currently working as a manager and mouthpiece for Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro, and speculation has been running rampant for a while now that he's not wrestling because of some lingering issues with his shoulders. However, it's now been revealed that that's not the case!

According to Dave Meltzer, Sami isn't currently injured; instead, WWE simply has no creatve plans for him. This is a strange decision, especially when the former NXT Champion is one of the most talented wrestlers in the company and Meltzer notes that he was medically cleared a while back.

Sami hasn't really worked any matches since last summer outside of a few live event multi-man bouts and a dark match after SmackDown in December. WWE could be keeping him out of the ring for precautionary reasons but it seems doubtful. Instead, it could just be that WWE really wants fans to hate Zayn so that when he does finally see action, it will be extra satisfying to watch his defeat.

We'll let you guys know if we hear any further updates!
