Last Monday, Drew McIntyre finally turned heel when he attacked Jey Uso and seemingly aligned himself with Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day. It's been a long time coming, as the former WWE Champion's frustrations with the ex-Bloodline member being welcomed to RAW have been apparent for weeks.

It's thanks to them he was unsuccessful in his bid to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle last year. However, he only has himself to blame for falling short in recent matches against Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

The ingredients have all been there for a heel turn and it looks like he'll now join The Judgment Day at Survivor Series when they battle Cody Rhodes, Rollins, Uso, and Sami Zayn in WarGames.

The latter was recently a guest on WWE's The Bump and shared his thoughts on McIntyre's recent actions.

"To an extent, I can understand where he's coming from," Zayn says in the video below. "If anybody could relate, actually, it's me, because I had a very similar experience going into a title fight with Roman Reigns [at Elimination Chamber]. With all the momentum in the world, it seemed like a lock. It's very hard to come back close to winning a championship and then having it slip through your fingers."

"If you're not careful, it could really, really, really play with your head. And I think that's kind of the difference between Drew McIntyre and myself, I think we both experienced something kind of similar and just had different ways of dealing with it."

He'd go on to add, "Maybe the fallout of everything that happened to him is obviously what led him to this decision. And obviously, he's had a hard time letting go of everything that happened. "I think he just blames Jey [Uso], which again, to an extent, I can understand because I've been in his shoes."

As we head into tonight's episode of RAW, rumours continue to swirl that Randy Orton is set to make his return to join Rhodes' WarGames team. It would make sense for WWE to pull the trigger on that now because they run the risk of fans being disappointed when The Viper shows up in place of CM Punk in Chicago this Saturday.

We'll be sure to keep you updated on that, but in the meantime, watch the full interview with Zayn in the player below.
