Samoa Joe has been part of the RAW commentary team for a while now, but following that post-WrestleMania shakeup to the show's announce team, we all expected the former NXT Champion to step back into the ring. Well, while it might one day happen, it won't be in WWE!

It's been confirmed today that Joe is among nine Superstars to have been released. 

"WWE has come to terms on the release of Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas and Wesley Blake as of today April 15, 2021," reads a statement on WWE.com before concluding with the expected, "We wish them the best in all of their future endeavors."

There are some legit shockers here.

Both of The IIconics are now no longer part of WWE, and while we haven't seen them on TV for a while, it's surprising that the sports entertainment giant can think of nothing to do with the likes of Mickie James, Tucker, and Kalisto. Bo Dallas has been sidelined for a long time, unfortunately, while the writing was on the wall for Wesley Blake as soon as The Forgotten Sons were disbanded.

Green is another unexpected release, but after Zack Ryder's WWE departure, perhaps not...
