Samoa Joe Could Be Heading Back To WWE After Shock Release...As Part Of The NXT Roster!

Samoa Joe never had much luck on the main roster, suffering frequent, ill-timed injuries and never receiving the main event push fans got behind in NXT.

Joe had moved into a commentary role in WWE after a concussion, even calling the action at this year's WrestleMania. While we were eagerly anticipating him stepping back into the ring, fans were left reeling when the former NXT Champion was released from his contract earlier this year.

Now, Fightful is reporting that there's a belief in WWE that Joe will return to WWE...as part of the NXT roster.

It's said that he was spotted at the WWE Performance Center earlier this week, and while it doesn't sound like a deal has been signed yet, there have been pitches within NXT to make use of The Destroyer. Joe has remained mostly silent since his release, with the hope among many being that he might return to IMPACT Wrestling or make his All Elite Wrestling debut.

Instead, it seems Joe is keen to return to the brand where he arguably found his most mainstream success.

We'll hopefully have more details to share with you soon, but with Finn Balor seemingly on his way out of NXT, it would be no bad thing for Joe to fill the void that The Prince has left in the company.
