Samoa Joe Explains Why He Doesn't Have A Problem With Brock Lesnar's Part-Time Schedule

While they choose their words carefully, a lot of WWE Superstars have made it clear that they're resentful of the fact Brock Lesnar shows up as and when he pleases to compete. It's easy to understand why they might feel that way but it's a strategy which seems to work for the company as The Beast's matches never fail to feel like they're a very big deal.

Someone who doesn't have a problem with the way Lesnar's WWE appearances are handled, though, is Samoa Joe. He's praised the former UFC competitor and WWE Universal Champion on a number of occasions after they worked together at Great Balls of Fire and SummerSlam and his comments here about why Lesnar's lighter schedule doesn't matter definitely make a lot of sense.

"You go to the Hulk Hogan era reigns, and I definitely didn’t see him on TV every week. There is a mystique to him not being on TV that much. When he does make appearances, it’s usually for purposeful reasons. That’s been the big theme for Brock. You hear he’s not here, but if you look back at the shows, he’s here when it counts and when I need to get my hands on him. As long as that still happens, I’m good with that."

Lesnar's current WWE contract is expected to come to an end next year and no one is quite sure what the future holds in store for him beyond that. With any luck, Vince McMahon will be able to convince him to stick around as his match with Samoa Joe was the first of many clashes wrestling fans have dreamed of seeing since the likes of Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura have hit the main roster.
