Samoa Joe returned to NXT earlier this month after being released by WWE in April. There had been rumblings for a while Triple H wanted to bring him back in some capacity, and the former NXT Champion opened up about his return to the company during a recent interview with Ryan Satin.

Apparently, sending his thanks to many of those he worked with led to a conversation with Triple H just hours after he was released that led to him making his NXT return as William Regal's enforcer.

"A lot of what was, me and Triple H had spoken about this transition in-depth further. It wasn’t just coming back to NXT and being an enforcer and having a role on the show. Now, I’m working in the talent scouting department, working with Canyon Ceman, doing more administrative things here and there behind the scenes," he revealed. "It’s a transition into some of the other aspects of the business of WWE."

Joe is someone most fans never expected to see in WWE, and he added that, as a talent scout, he's "looking forward to giving an opportunity to people who maybe wouldn’t get a look."

Of course, all most fans care about is whether Joe will step back into the ring. He's been sidelined since February 2020 after suffering a concussion during a commercial shoot for WWE, and when he was asked whether he plans to return to in-ring action, he responded: "Absolutely, we’ll just say yes, and leave it at that."
