Sasha Banks recently made an appearance on The Kurt Angle Show and was asked by the Olympic Gold Medallist about working with former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey. The Baddest Woman on the Planet had a memorable stint in WWE, but hasn't been seen since losing the RAW Women's Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania in 2019.
Rousey has since started a family and spoken negatively about her experience with wrestling fans, so there's no indication she's planning any sort of return.
As for Banks, she faced Rousey at the 2019 Royal Rumble in a losing effort for the title. Despite wanting another shot at the former WWE Superstar, she admitted that there was some backstage tension (not heat) there. "I was pissed off that Ronda Rousey could come in, get more money than me, get a locker room instead of me, bring all these people backstage and get more time [on screen] than me," Banks said, referring to Rousey's Four Horsewomen.
"Excuse me? Who is you and what you do? Besides respecting everything she’s done in the UFC and the fight world, when it comes to the squared circle, that’s my home, that’s work, that’s why I’m a legit boss. Not Ronda Rousey. She did love it, she was a fan and because of her fighting background, she knew just how to take things and it just flowed so easily and naturally for her. She was awesome to work with and I’d love to have another match with her again."
Banks' feelings are probably indicative of how many women in WWE felt following Rousey's in-ring debut, but the vast majority have spoken positively about the Baddest Woman on the Planet since her departure. However, comments dismissing pro wrestling as fake weren't quite as well-received.
Would you like to see Banks vs. Rousey again down the line?
