During Monday night's episode of RAW, a fan jumped the barricade and attempted to assault Seth Rollins. They managed to drag the former Universal Champion to the floor, but he was able to restrain them long enough for security to step in. We've since learned the NYPD will charge the attacker, 24-year-old Elisah Spencer, with attempted assault and attempting to disrupt a live sporting event.
TMZ managed to track down Rollins in the airport and asked if he was "scared" by the sight of a crazed fan charging at him. "Of course, I was. It’s terrifying, brother," he responded.
"It happened very quickly, so I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security team would come and do their job, which they did very quickly and then I was just trying to detach and move on. I hope that everybody is okay." When they suggested it was a work, Rollins laughed it off and said, "Once it happened I knew what was going on. The guy was barreling around the corner."
As for whether he suffered any injuries, the WWE Superstar added: "No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe. Everything was okay." Rollins, however, declined to reveal whether he plans to press charges against the fan. "I am not going to speak on that at this time."
Needless to say, we'll keep you updated as we learn more about the situation. Regardless of whether Rollins presses charges, WWE might, and Spencer is likely to be banned from all future events.
