While the feud between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins has been a tad underwhelming, the main driving force behind it is the latter being fed up of the current Universal Champion's rare appearances on WWE TV and the fact the title cannot be defended on
RAW on a regular basis as a result.
Now, with just days to go until the Showcase of the Immortals, Rollins has talked about why he believes The Beast is detrimental to WWE (and it doesn't really sounds like he's talking in-character either).
"I think people are just sick of it. You've seen and heard it every single week. They want to see a champion who is going to be there, that's going to represent them, that's a champion they can be proud of and one that inspires people. Brock Lesnar doesn't inspire anybody. He's an industry killer, not an industry builder. He cares about no one but himself and he'll tell you that, it's been that way his entire life. He was given the opportunity years ago to carry the mantle here in WWE but it was too tough for him and he walked away. Granted, he's been able to come back and do things on his own terms, but his own terms only serve himself."
As entertaining as Lesnar is, he doesn't need the title and PPVs definitely suffer due to the lack of Universal title matches. The Beast has had a stranglehold on the belt for well over a year now and while most fans are rooting for Rollins, there's no guarantee he'll win on Sunday, especially as Lesnar is booked for an appearance at an upcoming Saudi Arabia show in June.
