Although many fans thought Dean Ambrose would ultimately end up signing a new contract with WWE, The Lunatic Fringe officially parted ways with the company a couple of weeks ago, and has now reverted back to his old indie persona of Jon Moxley.

Ambrose's former Shield brother Seth Rollins has previously spoken about attempting to convince his friend to stay, and in a new interview TalkSport, the current Universal Champion touches on why Dean chose to leave, and what he believes the future may hold for the talented wrestler.

Oh god, so tough to say!,” Rollins exclaimed when asked why he feels Ambrose chose to step away from WWE. “You know, he’s really someone that keeps his cards close to the vest and even at the back end when I was trying to pry into what he was getting himself into after this, I think the cool thing was he didn’t even really know. He didn’t really have any big plans. For him, he just wanted the freedom to make his own decisions for the first time in the last eight or nine years.

It will be cool to see where he ends up or where he takes his talents whether that be to another wrestling promotion or somewhere else in the entertainment field, or, you know, maybe he just wants to sit at home play with his dogs, be with his wife and have a family – who knows?"

There's a lot of speculation that Moxley might show up in AEW, possibly even at the upcoming Double or Nothing event - but if Rollins knows anything about that, he's clearly keeping his cards close to his chest.
