Seth Rollins appeared on today's episode of WWE's After The Bell podcast, and spoke to Corey Graves about the recent comments Jim Cornette made about his fiance, Becky Lynch, and the fact that she's is pregnant. As you may recall, he slated "The Man" for her decision to have a baby when she's a top star in WWE and noted that she's got years before the "Easy-Bake Oven gets shut off."
As you might expect, Rollins didn't appreciate Cornette's hot take and explained that he felt hurt on a personal level because he's worked with him in Ring of Honor and always had a lot of respect for the wrestling personality.
"For him to come out and say some real negative things, some real misogynist things about women in general and pregnancy and the industry, it kind of caught me off guard," the former Universal Champion said. "I was still holding on to hope that somewhere along the line there was a personal connection between Jim and I that he would think twice before making just some egregious comments about women, about my wife. I can’t even forgive them. I don’t even want to repeat them."
"It’s just so disgusting," he continued. "The more I sat in thought about it and talked about it. I knew we had this appearance coming up and we’re going to have this conversation, I wanted to address it because I want to make it very clear that I am so proud of my fiance, of what she’s doing in the courage that it takes for her, at this point in her career, to make a decision."
Rollins noted that Lynch is 33 and that once a woman reaches 35, there are risks with pregnancies. He praised her for having to make such a tough decision and added, "She’s going to be just fine being pregnant, making money, doing alright. Everything that Jim Cornette said is complete nonsense."
'Nuff said, eh?
