During last night's episode of RAW, Roman Reigns seemingly turned on Paul Heyman, and a brawl ensued between the OTC, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins. However, it was the latter who was left standing tall as the show went off the air.
What once looked like a Triple Threat match meant to give these three something to do at WrestleMania has now become the Show of Show's most highly anticipated bout for many fans.
During a recent interview to hype their clash, Rollins didn't hold back while sharing his thoughts on Punk and took a shot at the Second City's former employer, AEW President Tony Khan.
"He’s a thief, he’s a scavenger, he’s a fake martyr, he’s a snake oil salesman, he’s a con artist, he will sell you a false bill of goods at every turn with no apologies, with zero responsibility," Rollins said of Punk. "He’s a guy who left this place, ghosted all of his friends which again."
"If you’ve got your personal crap to deal with, hey, that’s life I get it, but to then ask people to leave their jobs, leave their security, leave their dreams behind out of loyalty to you and then when they don’t you start to tear these people down in the media," he continued. "Then you take money from some billionaire's kid to come back to the business that you’ve forsaken and then try to tear down our company until that billionaire's kid doesn’t want to pay you anymore, and now you come back and take our money and wave the flag."
"I cannot tell you the absolute disgust in my veins that I have for Punk," Rollins concluded.
That line about Khan being a "billionaire's kid" now appears to be WWE's go-to insult for Khan, as John Cena said something similar during his heated verbal clash with Cody Rhodes on RAW a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, we'd bet on it getting under Khan's skin.
As for whether Rollins really holds this much animosity for Punk...who knows? However, it's certainly helping make this feud even more compelling.
