Seth Rollins will get an opportunity to cut Drew McIntyre's WWE Championship run short and reclaim the title at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.
The Monday Night Messiah blindsided the Scottish Superstar (he seems to have ditched Scottish Psychopath... not very babyface) at the end of last week's episode and delivered a pair of Stomps. McIntyre responded to open last night's show, challenging Rollins to a match for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank.
Later in the show, Seth accepted, while pointing out how similar they both are in many ways. He then told Drew that he intends to take the WWE title from him, not because he wants to, but because he has to.
This is bound to be a great match, but there us now way McIntyre loses the gold so soon. Surely it would have been smarter to save a challenger like Rollins for when there was some doubt, and give an up-and-coming Superstar a share of the spotlight and a chance to prove himself against Drew for his first title defense?
At any rate, the match is now set for Money in the Bank, which streams on the WWE Network, Sunday, May 10, at 7 ET/4 PT.
